Teaching is in my blood as both of my parents are educators. I grew up in my mother’s preschool, Alphabet Soup (located in the Cupertino area for over 30 years), helping out first as a volunteer, then as an aide. After earning a BS in Journalism from the University of Colorado, I took Early Childhood Education classes, allowing me to teach my own group of 4-year-olds as well as take on the Assistant Director position. At night, I attended San Jose State University to earn my full teaching credential and was quickly hired by the Cupertino Union School District. I spent 5 years teaching grades K-2 then left to raise my two babies while running my family’s preschool after my mother retired. After 8 years as a director and pre-K teacher, I returned to CUSD for a year of TK, then jumped at the opportunity to work in the mountain community that I love. I have now been a part of LPJUSD for 7 years, teaching 1 year of third grade and 6 years of second grade. I am look forward to getting to know your children and families.
