Curriculum & Instruction
Overview
The goal of the Loma Prieta Curriculum and Instruction Department is to ensure that all students achieve their full academic and social potential. With a focus on critical thinking and problem-based learning, we take our mission of preparing our students for an academically rigorous high school very seriously and are proud of our students' many achievements. Teachers in the Loma Prieta School District strive to meet the educational needs of each child. We have a long-standing commitment to educating the whole child by offering a comprehensive, integrated curriculum focused on the knowledge and processes students need for success in school and life.
The Instructional Leadership Team works collaboratively to ensure that the highest quality curriculum, instructional materials and learning environments are provided for all our students. The Professional Development Committee provides professional development opportunities for all staff and administrators, monitors local and state assessments, and oversees textbooks. The Curriculum and Instruction Department works closely with Los Gatos High School to assure alignment for students as they enter high school. On our site, you will find more detailed information on many of the signature efforts of this department. Should you want further information, please feel free to contact our office.
