Supporting local Families

LPJUSD is offering ways for you to help local families this Holiday season.

1. Loma Elementary sponsoring a canned food drive on campus! If you have canned food or shelf stable food you can donate, please have your student bring it to school, or drop it off in the donation bin at the Loma front office. We're looking for non-expired food of any kind, especially canned 'single meals' like chili and soup. Other suggested donations include peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal, snacks, crackers, canned meat, spaghetti sauce, shelf-stable milk, canned fruit, coffee, tea, and cooking oil. The canned food drive will be running now until December 20th!

2. The District is partnering with Skyland Church to support the 'Giving Tree' drive this holiday season. Skyland has historically provided support to our school families, and this drive is a great way to make a local impact by providing gift cards to mountain families during the holidays. If you'd like to participate, please drop off a target gift card in the amount of $25 or $50 dollars at either school or at the District Office. You can also order a target gift card online and have it physically mailed to the school at LPJUSD Attn: Diane Harit 23800 Summit Road Los Gatos, CA 95033. The Giving Tree drive will run until December 13th.

3. Club 41, our student-led inclusion group, is coordinating a Food Drive on the CT campus during this holiday season and are hoping to collect plenty of donations for families in need. They are looking for non-perishable, non-expired items such as canned meals, e.g. soups or chilis, canned fish or meat, canned fruits or vegetables, healthy cereals, spices and olive/canola oil. Please try to choose canned goods with pop tops so that they can be opened easily. This Food Drive will run through Wednesday, December 18, when our Club 41 leaders will then deliver all donated items to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley.

4. LPEF would always welcome donations to support our mountain schools! Visit www.lpef.org for more information.
